2011 NFL Mock Draft

2011 NFL Mock Draft (First Round)

  1. Carolina Panthers: AJ Green, WR, Georgia
    1. The Panthers lost out on Andrew Luck, so now they have to work with what they have (Jimmy Clausin). The Panthers will need a dynamic WR, and AJ Green is the closest thing this draft class has to offer.
  2. Denver Broncos: Da'Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson
    1. Da’Quan Bowers is a beast that will get to the QB. New Coach John Fox loves solid pass rushers.
  3. Buffalo Bills: Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri
    1. The Bills need a solid QB to get the ball to Evans and Johnson. Gabbert has a huge arm that could get the ball down the field in a hurry.
  4. Cincinnati Bengals: Nick Fairley, DT/DE, Auburn
    1. Nick Fairley looked unstoppable in the BCS championship game.
  5. Arizona Cardinals:  Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska
    1. The Cardinals need a lot of help this offseason. They could use a QB, but I do not expect Ken Whisenhunt to suck up his pride and draft one. He thinks Max Hall is a pro QB (which he is not). Expect the Cardinals to go with the best CB in the class.
  6. Cleveland Browns: Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU
    1. Patrick Peterson could easily be a top 5 pick. He is a shutdown Corner.
  7. San Francisco 49ers: Ryan Mallett, QB, Arkansas
    1. Ryan Mallett may not be the best fit for the 49ers (Jake Locker), but the new GM and coach will go with the bigger name and arm in Mallett.
  8. Tennessee Titans:  Marcell Dareus, DE/DT, Alabama
    1. Marcell Dareus is the closest thing to Albert Hainsworth in the draft, the Titans love HUGE defensive linemen.
  9. Dallas Cowboys : J.J. Watt, DE/DT, Wisconsin
    1. J.J Watt is a powerful D-Lineman that could play on the interior or exterior of the line.
  10. Washington Redskins: Cam Newton, QB, Auburn
    1. Someone has to get stuck with the the trainwreck, might as well be the biggest trainwreck duo (owner/coach) in the league.
  11. Houston Texans: Von Miller, DE/OLB, Texas A&M
    1. Texans need a dynamic player on the line that could stop the run, Von Miller can fit the bill here.
  12. Minnesota Vikings: Jake Locker, QB, Washington
    1. Last year Locker would have been a top 5 pick. This year he gets stuck on a team in shambles.
  13. Detroit Lions: Janoris Jenkins, CB, Florida
    1. Lions need help in the secondary, Jenkins will be the best available at 13.
  14. St Louis Rams : Julio Jones, WR, Alabama
    1. Sam Bradford had a solid season with no WRs last year. The Bradford/Jones combo could win the NFC West next year.
  15. Miami Dolphins: Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA
    1. Ayers was the only bright spot on the Bruin team last year.
  16. Jacksonville Jaguars: Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa
    1. Adrian Clayborn can be the steal of the draft at 16.
  17. New England Patriots: Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State
    1. The Patriots need help on the line. Derek Sherrod can come in and start right away.
  18. San Diego Chargers: Tyron Smith, OT, USC
    1. Tyron Smith might be the best offensive lineman in the draft. Tyron kept the Trojan backfield clean, expect him to protect Phillip Rivers blind site for years to come.
  19. New York Giants: Nate Solder, OT, Colorado
    1. Giants just miss out on Smith, Solder is the next best thing.
  20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Ryan Kerrigan, DE/OLB, Purdue
    1. Ryan Kerrigan can simply do it all on the D-Line!
  21. Kansas City Chiefs:  Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State
    1. Justin Blackmon does not have they hype of Green and Jones, but he will be a nice fit in KC. Bowe will see a lot of single coverage.
  22. Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College
    1. Big strong kid, will be a nice fit in Indy.
  23. Philadelphia Eagles: Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin
    1. Similar to Castonzo, strong as an OX!
  24. New Orleans Saints: Justin Houston, DE/OLB, Georgia
    1. After being gashed by Hasselbeck in the playoffs, Peyton will draft a player that could hit the QB.
  25. Seattle Seahawks: Allen Bailey, DE/DT, Miami
    1. Seattle has a nice young nucleus, so they will go with a pass rusher/run stopper here.
  26. Green Bay Packers: Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio State
    1. Cameron Heyward had a nice season in the Big 10. He is an overrated defensive player out of Ohio St, so of course the Packers will pick him, right AJ Hawk?
  27. New York Jets: Corey Liuget, DE/DT, Illinois
    1. Rex Ryan loves physical D play, so he will go with Corey Liuget.
  28. Baltimore Ravens: Stephen Paea, DT/DE, Oregon State
    1. Stephen Paea hit a lot of Pac 10 QBs, for a big guy he is nimble.
  29. Chicago Bears: Mike Pouncey, G, Florida
    1. Sorry Pitt you do not get the lil’ Pouncey.
  30. Pittsburgh Steelers: Brandon Harris, CB, Miami
    1. Nice CB could fill a huge hole in the Pit Defense. Pitt fans will rejoice no more William Gay sightings.
  31. Atlanta Falcons: Drake Nevis, DT, LSU
    1. Big strong kid that could plug a hole.
  32. New England Patriots: Mikel Leshoure, RB, Illinois
    1. No the Patriots are not going to take the over hyped Mark Ingram here!
