2011 NFL Mock Draft (First Round)
- Carolina Panthers: AJ Green, WR, Georgia
- The Panthers lost out on Andrew Luck, so now they have to work with what they have (Jimmy Clausin). The Panthers will need a dynamic WR, and AJ Green is the closest thing this draft class has to offer.
- Denver Broncos: Da'Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson
- Da’Quan Bowers is a beast that will get to the QB. New Coach John Fox loves solid pass rushers.
- Buffalo Bills: Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri
- The Bills need a solid QB to get the ball to Evans and Johnson. Gabbert has a huge arm that could get the ball down the field in a hurry.
- Cincinnati Bengals: Nick Fairley, DT/DE, Auburn
- Nick Fairley looked unstoppable in the BCS championship game.
- Arizona Cardinals: Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska
- The Cardinals need a lot of help this offseason. They could use a QB, but I do not expect Ken Whisenhunt to suck up his pride and draft one. He thinks Max Hall is a pro QB (which he is not). Expect the Cardinals to go with the best CB in the class.
- Cleveland Browns: Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU
- Patrick Peterson could easily be a top 5 pick. He is a shutdown Corner.
- San Francisco 49ers: Ryan Mallett, QB, Arkansas
- Ryan Mallett may not be the best fit for the 49ers (Jake Locker), but the new GM and coach will go with the bigger name and arm in Mallett.
- Tennessee Titans: Marcell Dareus, DE/DT, Alabama
- Marcell Dareus is the closest thing to Albert Hainsworth in the draft, the Titans love HUGE defensive linemen.
- Dallas Cowboys : J.J. Watt, DE/DT, Wisconsin
- J.J Watt is a powerful D-Lineman that could play on the interior or exterior of the line.
- Washington Redskins: Cam Newton, QB, Auburn
- Someone has to get stuck with the the trainwreck, might as well be the biggest trainwreck duo (owner/coach) in the league.
- Houston Texans: Von Miller, DE/OLB, Texas A&M
- Texans need a dynamic player on the line that could stop the run, Von Miller can fit the bill here.
- Minnesota Vikings: Jake Locker, QB, Washington
- Last year Locker would have been a top 5 pick. This year he gets stuck on a team in shambles.
- Detroit Lions: Janoris Jenkins, CB, Florida
- Lions need help in the secondary, Jenkins will be the best available at 13.
- St Louis Rams : Julio Jones, WR, Alabama
- Sam Bradford had a solid season with no WRs last year. The Bradford/Jones combo could win the NFC West next year.
- Miami Dolphins: Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA
- Ayers was the only bright spot on the Bruin team last year.
- Jacksonville Jaguars: Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa
- Adrian Clayborn can be the steal of the draft at 16.
- New England Patriots: Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State
- The Patriots need help on the line. Derek Sherrod can come in and start right away.
- San Diego Chargers: Tyron Smith, OT, USC
- Tyron Smith might be the best offensive lineman in the draft. Tyron kept the Trojan backfield clean, expect him to protect Phillip Rivers blind site for years to come.
- New York Giants: Nate Solder, OT, Colorado
- Giants just miss out on Smith, Solder is the next best thing.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Ryan Kerrigan, DE/OLB, Purdue
- Ryan Kerrigan can simply do it all on the D-Line!
- Kansas City Chiefs: Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State
- Justin Blackmon does not have they hype of Green and Jones, but he will be a nice fit in KC. Bowe will see a lot of single coverage.
- Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College
- Big strong kid, will be a nice fit in Indy.
- Philadelphia Eagles: Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin
- Similar to Castonzo, strong as an OX!
- New Orleans Saints: Justin Houston, DE/OLB, Georgia
- After being gashed by Hasselbeck in the playoffs, Peyton will draft a player that could hit the QB.
- Seattle Seahawks: Allen Bailey, DE/DT, Miami
- Seattle has a nice young nucleus, so they will go with a pass rusher/run stopper here.
- Green Bay Packers: Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio State
- Cameron Heyward had a nice season in the Big 10. He is an overrated defensive player out of Ohio St, so of course the Packers will pick him, right AJ Hawk?
- New York Jets: Corey Liuget, DE/DT, Illinois
- Rex Ryan loves physical D play, so he will go with Corey Liuget.
- Baltimore Ravens: Stephen Paea, DT/DE, Oregon State
- Stephen Paea hit a lot of Pac 10 QBs, for a big guy he is nimble.
- Chicago Bears: Mike Pouncey, G, Florida
- Sorry Pitt you do not get the lil’ Pouncey.
- Pittsburgh Steelers: Brandon Harris, CB, Miami
- Nice CB could fill a huge hole in the Pit Defense. Pitt fans will rejoice no more William Gay sightings.
- Atlanta Falcons: Drake Nevis, DT, LSU
- Big strong kid that could plug a hole.
- New England Patriots: Mikel Leshoure, RB, Illinois
- No the Patriots are not going to take the over hyped Mark Ingram here!
